What is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy?

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or CBT is an action focused and goal oriented form of treatment that focuses on thoughts, emotions, and behavior. CBT works to improve mood, feelings, and overall functioning and is suitable for a variety of needs. In CBT, the therapist and client work as a team to problem solve and overcome obstacles. A key component of CBT is homework and utilizing your skills outside of the therapy room. CBT is meant to be a short-term form of treatment that teaches you the skills to be your own therapist.

What if I don’t have a disorder, is CBT right for me?

Yes! CBT is a great way to gain insight, problem solve, navigate sticky situations, and live a more fulfilling life.

What are your fees?

Please call or email directly to discuss fees. A good faith estimate will be provided to you then.

Does CBT focus on my childhood?

It is important to get to know the whole you, including events and relationships that have shaped you. Though CBT is focused more on current situations and what is maintaining a problem, history and the origin of the problem are important to best understand issues and plan for treatment.

Are you doing virtual sessions or in person?

Both! Dr. Rosen offers virtual sessions via a HIPAA compliant platform. For those who prefer an office visit, Dr. Rosen is also offering in office sessions. If you prefer an in office visit, you must show proof of vaccine and both parties (client and therapist) must wear a mask for the entirety of the session.

How long can I expect to be in therapy?

CBT is meant to be a short-term form of treatment. Each treatment course is unique and varies based on the nature and severity of the issue. Many treatment courses last between 12-20 sessions.

Do you take insurance?

Dr. Rosen does not currently participate in any insurance programs. However, he is happy to assist with paperwork to help you receive out-of-network reimbursement from your insurance provider.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Dr. Rosen accepts cash, checks, Venmo, and credit cards.
